Crackdown 3 (Xbox One)

Crackdown 3 is the third game in the Crackdown action series featuring super-powered characters in an open-world sandbox environment. Set ten years after the events of the previous game, players take control of Commander Jaxon (Terry Crews) after a terrorist attack shuts down power all around the world. Jaxon is part of the legal enforcement bureau The Agency and the organization is driven back to the city of New Providence ruled by a corporation called Terra Nova.

In the main campaign Terra Nova needs to be taken on and this can be done playing solo or cooperatively with a friend online and cross-platform. The main character has access to powerful abilities to move very fast, jump great heights over building, pick and hurl objects and vehicles and so on. The game is mainly a shooter, but destruction is encouraged to fight opponents in other ways. During the campaign there are various objectives and missions to complete, including taking out captains to bring down Terra Nova. Different gangs control different parts of the city and there is a system in place to lure and retaliate to attract a gang’s attention and bring them down. Next to movement on foot there are also numerous vehicles. There is a new multiplayer section called Wrecking Zone for up to ten players through different game modes with a focus on destruction.

As in the previous games orbs are the main currency, earned through killing enemies with specific tools or finding hidden items. These orbs are used to level up the character through five core skills: agility, driving, explosives, firearms, and strength.
